Back.

The "nieuwe rustige START" Sunday warm-up ride with the sorsaka bikers.

This is how I experienced it.

Saturday night against all cycling rules( for older people you know who you are) I went out for drinks with my colleagues. (Back in my collage years I would drink a case of beer and still get up for class and soccer practice). Anyway I got home @ 3:30AM after a good 3 hour nap I got up and called up Chang to ask if we were still going with the hope the we weren't grrr. I wasn't surprised by his answer " SI " I jumped out of bed kissed my dushi who was still sleeping good-by and embarked on the "nieuwe rustige START".

After all the bon anja's, introductions and the usual equipment check. BTW Ache was put in-charge conducting the tire pressure check all the bikes for the journey. Now thinking back this would have been the perfect point in time where I could have backed off and headed back to my cozy bed, but no!!!! I was going to do this. After looking around for more out of shape riders and finding none I told myself this is going to be fun" NOT". The ride toward the vlakte was great I felt as if I had my legs back flying down the red sand at 30+kph felt great. Plastic Bai, was fun I'm a technical rider so even out of shape I was enjoying it and feeling pretty good. Heading to Barber and the much anticipated sopi di kabritu I felt good and fearing nothing. We made a small hydration stop at the 4th of July snack and off we were to PLAZA for soup. After one pastechi and cup of soup I was ready, Yea right until the first immediate up hill. I was asking my self "Where did my legs go !!!!" Going up the second hill I'm thinking to myself you are in trouble and this is going to be very very painful, now I understand why Chang wrote this in the e-mail"whatever, no pain no gain, dus go go go go." At the willibrordus stop I loaded up with just about every performance enhancer they had in the store, Bananas, mystical water, even a ginseng drink, all this to get myself to finish what was coming, the willibrordus climb and Bullenbay stretch. I don't know if it was the Ginseng or the multiple bananas but I did finish. A word of thanks goes to Cheng and Ben and the whole Sorsaka crew for the help, motivation to get me true this. Thanks Guy's.

I normally don't write about my cycling escapades, but I had the urge to do so now my be it's good therapy :-)

For the ones that missed it total km 55!!!! and I'm feeling everyone of them right now.
